Originally designed to meet the detailed specifications of the Summit View Alternative High School. School RecordKeeper AE has been customized for alternative education programs. The only program of its kind, the capabilities of the software came from years of loos development by faculty staff and recently redeveloped to create a unified system with a point and click user interface for highest efficiency.

Student Management

Detailed logging is the key the the student management. The ability to log what is occuring with each student allows for quick reviews of a students status. With the ability to track their books and accounting, conferences, correspondence, attendance and testing with detailed timestamps and entry person identification make audits a snap. Badge scanning for attendance and alerts upon arrival at school when their badge is scanned allows staff to monitor closely student needing special attention. When all the data is combined into a single file and accessible by all staff with realtime updating everyone is keept informed to keep students from falling through the cracks.

Course/Section Management

Although based originally on the Standard School RecordKeeper product. The Alterative Education version is drastically different in how it manages students enrollment. Unlike traditional system which put student in a fixed course which runs for a fixed period of time. The AE version allows student to be planned in a course through their AEP. When course a course log entry is created by the instructor for the first time the class is flagged as enrolled and shows as a current course in progress. Additional loggin for each enrolled class continues until a student withdraws or completes the course. The start and end dates of the class are independent to each student creating a rolling set of currently enrolled students in a course. Instructors assigned to a course can view an overview list of all their courses and student currently enrolled in them at a glance.

When it is time for monthly progress reporting, instructors can view their own list of students to evaluate each student as satisfactory or unsatisfactory for the month. At a glance a instructor can reference the detailed class log for each student and provide an individual comment for the month for that student.

Personnel Scheduling

In addition to the standard HR abilities in School RecordKeeper. School RecordKeeper AE is the only version to support a full scheduling package to manage the schedule of every staff member. Block days off, meeting and appointment of all types. Key to scheduling is a graph based view where any number of staff can be viewed at once for their availability and new appointment for activities or students can be entered directly into the graph view. Appointment with students also are visible through each students screen and appointments can be made by any user in the system and the updates to others is realtime.
